As Child Guidance Resource Centers celebrates 70 years of healing, hope, and service, the organization is honored The William Penn Foundation has awarded a grant in the amount of $508,638 to support its Incredible Years: Early Childhood Behavioral Health Initiative, a caregiver-focused program serving children ages 0–8 and their families.
The initiative helps parents and caregivers identify and address early emotional and behavioral concerns through education, group sessions, home-based coaching, and ongoing support. By focusing on prevention rather than diagnosis, the program equips families with tools to respond early, reducing the need for more intensive services later.
The two-year program will serve families across Philadelphia, with targeted outreach to high-need communities. It also includes a caregiver “warm line,” offering real-time, non-crisis guidance and connection to resources.
“At Child Guidance Resource Centers, we are committed to strengthening families and improving outcomes for children,” said Aimee Salas, Chief Clinical Officer. “This funding allows us to reach high-need families and empower caregivers to recognize and respond to early behavioral and emotional concerns when it can make the greatest difference. By supporting families early, we can reduce the need for more intensive services later and help children thrive.”
For seven decades, Child Guidance Resource Centers has remained a beacon of hope for individuals and families navigating mental health challenges, and the organization looks forward to continuing that legacy for generations to come.
