As we close out February and reflect on the significance of Black History Month, I also mark six months of service as the first African American President and CEO of Child Guidance Resource Centers. This journey has been humbling and inspiring, and I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our donors, partners, and stakeholders who make our work possible.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” These words resonate deeply as we continue working together to uplift and empower the communities we serve. While challenges persist, our collective hope, commitment, and generosity fuel our mission to provide high-quality behavioral health services for generations to come.
Our dedication to mental health equity remains at the forefront. A recent community event, led by our DEI and Government Relations Committees, addressed health disparities and the role of social determinants in behavioral healthcare. These discussions reaffirm our responsibility to advocate for change and ensure access to essential services for all. We are also excited about a growing partnership with LaSalle University and Girls Spark, expanding our reach and deepening our commitment to youth mental health.
At CGRC, strategic growth is a priority. We have officially launched our strategic planning process, which will shape the future of our organization. Your support and partnership remain critical as we navigate challenges and seize opportunities to strengthen our programs and services.
Most importantly, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your continued investment in CGRC. Your generosity empowers us to sustain and expand life-changing services for children, families, and communities in need. Together, we will build a future where behavioral health support is accessible, equitable, and transformative.
