This workshop provides an overview of sexual development and addresses concerns that mental health clinicians may encounter when working with traumatized youth. The course will explore factors that influence sexual development including trauma. Participants will learn the importance of viewing clients’ sexuality as more than just their sexual activity

WHO SHOULD ATTEND This course is intended for Social Workers, Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, School-Based Clinicians, Graduate Students, and others supporting the mental health and well-being of children and youth. Eligible participants will be awarded 2 NBCC; PA SW/PC/MFT and/or ACT 48 Credits upon completion.

OUR PRESENTER, KELLY J. ACE, PHD, JD Kelly Ace holds a Master's degree in Psychology & Counseling, as well as a law degree and a Ph.D. in Human Sexuality. She is licensed as both a Professional Counselor and as an attorney. She is also credentialed through the National Board for Certified Counselors, the American Board of Forensic Counselors, and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists.

Disparities in Access to Healthcare

Disparities in Access to Healthcare” will be the focus allowing the community to receive information from organizations, community leaders, and legislators striving to provide resources and solutions to this rising problem. The event will include a resource fair, and an opportunity to hear from community leaders focused on the issue. Here is a list of some of the people who will be joining us: PA State Representative Gregory Scott, Montgomery County Commissioner Jamila H. Winder, Dr. Kimberly T. Arnold, PhD, MPH-Penn LDI, Tony Salvatore, Director of Development/Suicide Prevention, Sarah Messina, Director of Montgomery County ATOD Prevention at Child Guidance Resource Centers, along with various organizations from around the area participating in our resource fair to provide valuable information. Our host and moderator will be Dr. Williametta Simmons, Psychologist. We invite members of the community to join us for this special event. Parking is available and the facility is accessible by way of public transportation.
CGRC's Superhero 5k and Wellness Fair: October 20th, 2024

We are thrilled to announce our 11th annual Superhero 5k and Wellness Fair on Sunday, October 20th at Rose Tree Park (rain date of the 27th)! Join us for a 5k (you can walk, run, and bring your pet, if you’d like!), half mile horseshoe race for 5-12 year olds, and a 100 yard dash for the 5 and under friends. It’s a super fun way to spend your morning and we’ll share prevention skills, build awareness of substance misuse, and share a variety of mental health and wellness resources. The race supports CGRC’s ability to provide vital substance misuse prevention and behavioral health services for over 4,500 children and adolescents across southeastern Pennsylvania.
