Extended School Year (ESY)

Educational Institution

Summer Isn't a Break from Support. It's a Chance to Strengthen It.

For students with Individualized Education Programs, consistency matters. CGRC's Extended School Year (ESY) program exists to ensure that progress made during the school year is not lost over the summer months and that students return feeling capable, regulated, and ready to learn.

Our ESY Program blends targeted academic instruction with therapeutic and social-emotional support, creating a summer experience that is purposeful, engaging, and responsive to each child’s needs. Students are supported by a multidisciplinary team of educators and clinicians who understand how emotional well-being and learning intersect.

Learning That Continues & Growth That Builds

CGRC’s Emotional Support ESY program is intentionally designed around each student’s IEP goals, with a focus on:

  • Sustaining academic skills
  • Reinforcing social-emotional learning
  • Strengthening emotional regulation and peer interaction

Students learn through structured instruction, guided practice, and positive modeling. Summer enrichment activities are not “extras” — they are thoughtfully integrated opportunities for students to practice flexibility, problem-solving, and self-confidence in real-world settings.

Building Skills That Extend Beyond the Classroom

We emphasize empowerment. Through daily support and individualized attention, students develop the emotional and social tools they need to navigate challenges, both academic and personal. Small class sizes allow staff to meet students where they are, helping them build capacity safely while reinforcing success.

Students leave ESY with stronger coping strategies, improved self-awareness, and renewed confidence.

A Therapeutic Summer Environment That Makes a Difference

CGRC’s Elementary ESY program provides a structured, supportive setting for students with emotional, behavioral, and academic needs. Our team is committed to helping each child feel safe, capable, and supported so they can continue moving forward, even when school is out.
