For Families
Triple P
Parenting is one of the hardest and most important jobs, but sometimes parents need extra tools and strategies to manage challenging behaviors. At CGRC, our Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) provides evidence-based, one-on-one support for parents of children ages 2–12 with moderate to severe behavioral concerns. The program helps parents understand why these behaviors occur, set realistic goals for change, and build confidence in their parenting skills.
Delivered by trained professionals over 10 weekly one-hour sessions, Triple P focuses on practical strategies that can be implemented at home, in school, and in the community. Parents learn generalization strategies that help them apply what they’ve learned across situations and maintain lasting improvements in family life.
Creating Positive Change in Families Every Day
Triple P is ideal for parents and caregivers seeking individualized support for children with moderate to severe behavioral challenges. Throughout the program, parents gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to manage difficult moments, strengthen relationships with their children, and create positive, sustainable change in everyday life.
Session 1: Initial Interview — The parent is interviewed to gather information about their child’s behavior, development, and family circumstances. They complete assessments and learn to track a target behavior over the following week.
Session 2: Observation & Assessment Feedback — The practitioner observes child behavior and parenting, shares assessment feedback, and helps the parent set goals for themselves and their child.
Session 3: Promoting Children’s Development — Parents learn strategies to strengthen the parent-child relationship and encourage positive attention, with opportunities to practice these skills.
Session 4: Managing Misbehavior — Parents are introduced to strategies for handling misbehavior, rehearsing routines for non-compliance, and setting homework tasks.
Sessions 5–7: Practice & Feedback — Parents practice behavior change strategies during brief interactions while the practitioner observes, gives feedback, and helps refine goals and techniques.
Session 8: Planned Activities Training — Parents identify high-risk activities, develop routines to target specific behaviors, and choose one routine to implement at home and in the community.
Session 9: Implementing Planned Activities — Parents use planned activities to encourage independent and structured play, with practitioner feedback and observation of a final routine.
Session 10: Program Close — Progress is reviewed, family survival tips are shared, final assessments are completed, and referral options are discussed if needed. Parents receive a certificate of completion after this session.
