When you think about therapy, you are very likely thinking about outpatient services! Outpatient services are in-office (or telehealth) sessions with a therapist - they can be group sessions, individual, or family. Whether your child is struggling with emotional, social, developmental or behavioral issues, our outpatient department is here to help. We have over 64 years of experience helping children and families heal, grow, and thrive.
What are Outpatient Services?
Outpatient Services are an array of office-based services that help your child or adolescent with depression, anxiety, stress, anger, self-esteem, ADHD, bereavement or other emotional, social and behavioral difficulties. Following a comprehensive assessment and consultation, we identify your child’s needs and make recommendations for treatment. We may recommend one or more of the following: individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and/or medication management. Generally, sessions are about one hour weekly, though depending on your child’s needs, the cadence can vary.
We offer specialty tracks for anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, and loss. We offer evidence-based treatments of Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. To view the current outpatient group offerings, download our info sheet here.
Who can receive Outpatient therapy?
Children and adolescents from two to 21 years old.
Who may be on your Outpatient Team?
Psychiatrist: Licensed child and adolescent psychiatrists experienced and trained in working with children, adolescents, and families are available to work with you regarding diagnosis, treatment planning and medication management. We do not offer medication management alone because we strongly believe that therapy is central to a child’s development, and medication, when needed, is the support to that work and growth.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner: Licensed certified nurse practitioners experienced and trained in working with children, adolescents and families are available to work with you regarding diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management.
Psychologist: Licensed, school-certified psychologists are available for diagnostic evaluation, individual/family/group therapy, and treatment planning. Testing may also be available if needed.
Therapist: Mental health clinicians with expertise working with children and families work collaboratively and holistically to provide the most effective treatment. Treatment may consist of individual, group and/or family therapy depending on your unique need.
